MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Middle Tennessee State volleyball team and head coach Chuck Crawford announced the signing of Corinne Meier and Melissa Töre. Meier and Töre will both join the Blue Raiders in the fall for the 2021 season.
 
"We expect both players to make an immediate impact and excited to see where their individual drive and commitment will take them and our program," said Crawford.
 
Corinne Meir
6-0 | OH | Dubuque, Iowa | Hempstead High School
Meier led her team to an 18-5 record and an eighth Class 5A ranking her senior season. During her senior season, she was selected First Team All-Conference and finished as the leading hitter in Class 5A with 412 kills. She eclipsed the career 1,000 kill mark against Western Dubuque on Sept. 16 and set the school record for most kills in a match on Oct. 27 against Marion. Corinne plans to major in nursing or pre-med at Middle Tennessee State.
 
"Corinne is a gifted outside hitter with a physically imposing build and terminal arm to match," said Crawford. She is the daughter of two educators who were both collegiate athletes. Her volleyball IQ, mixed with her leadership skills by commanding her team in big moments, will greatly contribute to our program. Corinne had many opportunities to play collegiately but was passionate in choosing to be a Blue Raider."
 
Melissa Töre
6-2 | MB | Istanbul, Turkey | Anabilim High School
Töre comes to Middle Tennessee State from Istanbul, Turkey, as a six-foot-two middle blocker. She has played for multiple club teams, including Eczacibasi, Isik, Vakifbank, Beşiktaş, and Bahçelievler Belediye sport clubs. At Anabilim High School, Töre helped lead her team to a third-place ranking in Istanbul and a fourth-place ranking in Turkey.
 
"Melisa comes to us with a wealth of experience having played at a very high level in Turkey," said Crawford. She is a dynamic middle who has the ability to stress an opponent's defense with her attacking and frustrate opposing hitters with her natural blocking ability. Melisa is extremely humble, has a diligent work ethic, and grateful for this opportunity, which is a perfect fit for our culture."
