Brazil - Bulgaria (World Grand Prix 2013, short cut)

World Grand Prix 2013: Sensation in Mayaguez! "Canarinhos" recognized the superiority of Bulgaria after four sets match and lost 7th place in standings at the expense of Bulgaria. It was the first time the two teams had met in the World Grand Prix, but history was on the Bulgarians’ side with a 4-3 advantage over the Brazilians in major competitions going into the game although those matches were predominately in the World Championships from 1960 to 1980. The last match Brazil won in three sets at the 2002 World Championships, which was Bulgaria's last appearance in an FIVB event not counting qualifying tournaments. Fernanda Rodrigues of Brazil was the top scorer in the match with 18 points while Bulgaria were led by Dobriana Rabadzhieva with 16 points. Bulgaria had the advantage in blocking points (14-12).
