China - Bulgaria (World Grand Prix 2013, full match)

It was the first match between the two countries with China, one of only two teams (the other being Japan) to have played in all 21 editions of the World Grand Prix, starting as heavy favourites against Bulgaria who are ranked 43rd in the world. The hosts without big problems won all sets in that game. Chinese team without some starting players had no difficulties, beating Netherlands, Bulgaria and Cuba of the first week in the World Grand Prix 2013. New star is young Ting Zhu, best scorer of Chinese team. China coach Lang Ping after match said: "This is our first official match in major international competition with the new line up and in today’s match we adopted a three veterans plus three new players arrangement. We were not familiar with the Bulgaria game so our approach was to focus on our own game and try to bring our skills into full play. In the second set, we had some problems with our receiving and the Bulgaria team played some high quality serves. The game was tight in the second and third sets - we won by only two points. The team came through with perseverance and it was a good experience for the team".
