Aleh Akhrem has a Polish citizenship (and probably he can play for the Polish national team in the near future)! As it is written in siatka.org Aleh Akhrem has naturalized by a Polish President and now a procedure of passport emission is finished.
Asseco Resovia now has a lot of foreign players, so it'll help a lot (foreign players limits). But it probaly wasn't happend because of this situation. Aleh started applying for a Polish citizenship in february 2010, so probably he did it because of his own aspirations.

Mam nadzieję, że nie zagra w kadrze mimo, że go lubię.

The question is: do we really need him in Polish NT? He has to wait two years, so he will be 29 years old when he could play for our NT. But we have enough good players on his position: Winiarski, Bakieiwcz, Ruciak, Kurek, Bartman, Kubiak, Mika and maybe Buszek. Do we really need him?

As it is written in wp.pl Akhrem can play in Polish national team!
"W przypadku zmiany reprezentacji światowa federacja siatkarska (FIVB) przewiduje dwuletni okres karencji."

What do You think about it? Should he play in Polish national team if he want to? Does he have chances to play in the first team?

Nothing's wrong, but as Michal said it is hard to get the Polish citizenship, when You haven't some influences. I like Aleh and I think he like us (as a nation) ? and he is going to stay in Poland after the end of his career. I predict he is going to play in Resovia for years so it is good that he has Polish citizenship.

/Any other opinions?

Wait, foreigners can get polish citizenship if they have been married to polish citizens for 3 years. Aleh's wife has got polish parents, so she is polish too and it's no matter wheater she grown up in Poland or not. Everything is clear. So what's wrong?

Personally I don't have anything against, but this forced me to ask:

What about all the people in critical life situation waiting for a citizenship for years?

That's quite unfair from that point of view, but Aleh has nothing to do with that, that's just a matter of our sick politics.
