After 21 years, the Under 17 women's national team returns to the top step of the podium at the European Championships in the category. 

This afternoon at the Sport Hall TJ Slavia in Hradec Kralove, in the Czech Republic, the azzurrine won 3-1 (25-16, 23-25, 25-20, 25-22) over Turkey, winning the gold medal. With good team play and excellent performance in all fundamentals, the Italians managed to overcome the only team that had been able to beat them in the group stage. 

Mvp of the continental review is the blue setter Safa Allaoui who also entered the dream team with the blue Erika Esposito and Linda Manfredini. Turkish players Ceylin Kuyan and Begum Kacmaz, German player Leana Grozer and Serbian free Danica Ruzic complete the sextet. 

A match, this afternoon, conducted for very long stretches by Italy which had a single empty pass in the second set, won by Turkey, but in which Esposito and teammates showed their character and determination.
