The golden summer of Italian volleyball is enriched by another, very precious, triumph. The Under 19 women's national team beat Serbia 3-2 winning gold. This is the eighth European U19 triumph for the national team - only the former USSR has more affirmations, 12. Italy was dragged into the final by the power of Julia Ituma (21 points with 43% of excellence in attack) and by the performance of Lisa Esposito. Playing on the bench, the 2005-born spiker took over from Giulia Viscioni from the 3rd set and changed face to the challenge, putting in excellent batting rounds (4 aces) and closing with 17 points.
