Women's volleyball, will Paola Egonu be the best scorer of the World Cup?

Paola Egonu is the big favorite to win the top scorer at the 2022 Women's Volleyball World Cup. The opposite of Italy is third in the special ranking after the quarter-finals, but the two athletes who precede her have already been eliminated from the tournament and the blue has two more games available to make a comfortable overtaking.

The tricolor bomber has scored 220 points (196 attacks, 17 blocks, 7 aces) in nine games played, preceded by the Polish Magdalena Stysiak (240) and the Belgian Britt Herbots (222), who however greeted the competition. Paola Egonu has a considerable margin against the Brazilian Gabriela “Gabi” Braga (185) and the Serbian Tijana Boskovic (183).

 Recall that Italy will face Brazil in the semifinal tomorrow evening, while today Serbia and the USA will meet in the other semifinal. Egonu is therefore in pole position for her triumph, it will be enough for her between the semifinal and the final (for the first or third place) in order not to waste the margin of 35 and 37 points respectively on Gabi and Boskovic.
