@SunDevilVB Signs Three More To 2020 Roster

TEMPE, Ariz. – Arizona State volleyball signed three additions to bring more talent and depth to the 2020 roster with Ayyuce Altintas from Turkey, Marta Levinska from Latvia and Maddie McLaughlin from New York joining the Sun Devils.
 
Altintas, Levinska and McLaughlin will join the three who previously signed National Letters of Intent (NLIs): Roberta Rabelo, Ella Snyder and Claudia Stahlke. Of the six of them, three are outside hitters, two are middle blockers and one is a setter. Ayyuce Altintas
Ankara, Turkey | Ankara Okyanus Koleji | Middle Blocker | 6-2
  • 2020 Venus Sultans League Player with Karayollari, and was the only teenager on the team.
  • Took second place at the 2018 Turkish Volleyball Championship with Karayollari.
  • 2016 Analig Championship and MVP Award.
  • Hopes to pursue a degree in business law.
  • Her parents are Mehmet and Fatma Altintas, and she has one brother, Tugrul, who did taekwondo professionally.
Tomasevic: "We were looking for someone in the middle that can make an impact in the Pac-12 right away. Ayyuce's speed and the speed of her arm stood out to us and got us very interested in her. After talking to her and her family, there was no question that we would love for her to be a part of Sun Devil family."  
Marta Levinska
Riga, Latvia | Riga Natalia Draudzinas High School | Outside Hitter | 6-2
  • Named the best women's volleyball player in Latvia in the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.
  • Named the best player in women's Baltic league in 2019-20.
  • Earned the title of best opposite player in women's Baltic league in 2018-19.
  • She is planning on studying psychology.
  • Her parents are Gundars and Vineta Levinska. She has one older brother, Karlis. 
Tomasevic: "Marta is a very physical athlete that has the ability to take over matches and be the leader on the court. She is someone that's been carrying her team through tough matches and scoring points for them when championships needed to be won. She is also a lefty with a good arm, which is something we didn't have for a long time at ASU. We are looking forward to having her join our team this fall."  
Maddie McLaughlin
East Aurora, New York | East Aurora High School | Outside Hitter | 6-2
  • Junior transfer from SUNY Geneseo in Geneseo, New York.
  • Received second-team All-SUNYAC honors in 2019.
  • 2018 SUNYAC Women's Volleyball Rookie of the Year.
  • Three-sport athlete at SUNY Geneseo.
  • Graduated from East Aurora High School in 2018.
  • Won sectional championship with East Aurora in 2017 while being named to the All-Tournament Team. 
  • Her full name is Madeleine.
  • Hopes to pursue a career in sports psychology.
  • Her parents are Peter and Mary. She has two brothers, Charlie and Henry.
Tomasevic: "Maddie is another amazing athlete that we were blessed to add to our roster in this offseason. Maddie is a proven fighter and winner. She is an amazing athlete that I can't wait to get to work with."
