Gold Medal Goes To China
Brazil starts good and leads in the first set 23:21, but China scores four points in a row what is enough to earn this set. In the second set the result was tight until the score 17:17 when Brazilian girls lost their concentration and the set. China up two sets still plays wonderfully, but they did not take the opportunity with two match balls on their side, so Asian team loses the third set. In the last set China leads, Brazil approaches the most with two points of difference and Chinese take a gold. Overall, China performed better in attack and serve, while Brazil was more successful only in block.

Poland's Great Victory
Italy started out scared and lost the first set with the really bad score 12:25. Squadra Azzuri comes back in the next set and after the score 16:16 takes a lead and a set. In the third set Poland was ahead, but Italy cathes them on the score 22:22. However, Polish courage and a little bit of fortune on their side won this set. The fortune hugs the Italian side in the fourth set when they were down 13:19. Big deconcentration gap among Polish players brought Italy the fourth set. Finally, Poland girls played as one, won the match and earned the bronze medal.

Japan's Revenge
This was the second match between Russia and Japan because first time they met in the preliminary round playing in the same pool, and then Russia won with 3:2. Today, excellent Japanese players, giving their best as usually, did not have bigger problems. Only in the second set Russian was ahead by four points, but after 18:18 Japan takes a lead and finishes the set to its benefit. In the third set, Japanese player Ayako Sana, jump-serves (five aces) and destroys European reception and overall game cocept. Statistics showed that Russian team lost mainly due to its bad performed attack which earned only 27 points, while Japan made 46.

Chinese Taipei Claims 7th Place After Beating Dominican Republic
In the first match of the final day exciting was just the second set where Dominican Republic had five set balls and lost by 29:31. In the finish of this set, Teng Yen Min, an outside hitter from Chinese Taipei only 171cm tall, breakes down very tall Dominican block. American teams takes the third set pretty easily with the result 25:14, but in the fourth set continues with many mistakes what brings the final victory to Chinese Taipei.
