btw this timetable is a bit strange to me. Why only in Vienna there will be matches in the evening? On Mondey aren't people working at 18.00 in Czech? O.o
Belgio: strong serve, strong attack, but most of all very agonistic spirit of the team in general.
Finland: there are few important personality that lead the team, first of all Mikko Esko that is actually the soul of the team, expecially from the tactical point of view, obviously. our goal will be understand him as much as possible to limit the hitters.
France: they are partially "new" for two reason: they have a new important player, Ngapeth, and they didn't perform very well at the WL, and when a good team doesn't perform well a the WL, there is always the need to proof his true value. Tecnichally, as always they express wonderful permormances in defense (and block-defense)
We... we are here hoping to surprise, to stay there until the 18th.
We did everything we wanted to did to prepare this ECh (the only little trouble was Zaytsev's injury), so now is the time to find out if it we planned these 5 weeks training in a way that will actually help the team. I'm proud that my guys enjoy being in this group and see the group as their best weapon. I like that, because the strenght of the group is smth everybody, even ifl expert about vb, can catch and love

And France wins the 1st set of these e.c.
http://www.cev.lu/mmp/online/website/highlights/index_EN.html
Slovenia is leading 2:0 vs Austria, France 2:1 vs Finland, Slovakia 2:1 vs Bulgaria (all sets ended after 25), Russia got the girst victory of this ECh, beating Estonia 3-0.
that's it for now :)
edit: France won 28-26 ( leading 24-21! unfortunally Finland didn't make it!)
Now it's going on only Slovakia-Bulgaria, it's tie break.
Seems we can't undervalue the Europa League winner ?
We will see ?
I support Bulgaria too ?
That really is the first surprise, there's always one...I just hope Slovakia plays that well with the other teams in our group and steals points from them,too...I knew we were too confident going into it...
the fact i'm happy for slovakia's win doesn't mean i'm happy for bulgaria's lose..
slovakia trully needed and deserved that victory.
in other games probably bulgaria will get my support,it's just a game there's nothing personal
edit: for me it wasn't that surprising, they were getting prepared long and zealously, they took first two sets, everything's fare
but sometimes you really just take everything too close (i'm speaking about EVERYTHING, not only this turkish guy)..i'd better save my nerves if i were you
P.S raylight calm down dude, nothing is imposible just hard to do its all. remember this is only the begining.
Yeah Revan this is the big step for slovakian volleyball in long history. After this match, everything in this group is possible.
That was an hard match, and even if of course I'm glad we won, I didn't like at all how we started the match and how we played the 3rd set, always letting them came back... they had like 4 set points!
And also in the third set we were leading 20-10 and let them score many points in a row... but it's ok, at the end we managed to won the 3rd set at that was really important, so we could won the match and took 3 points.
Best player: I'll say Zaytsev, because he was the most constant. The commentators said Savani, but at the biginning I didn't like him... while later he woke up?
About Belgium, many many compliments to Veerhes, it's seemed he was always on court, the other MB almost didn't exist and he was magically always there! Depestele did very nice sets, also to Verahnammen he play fast and short sets really effective. I liked so much also the libero, and Van der Dries that played well the first set. Later he was replaced by Van Walle that did good but nothing... out of order, if I can say that (wonderful ace on Zaytsev, tough!), at least I had this impression. Deroo contribuite very well when the coach let him join the court.
Best player: Veerhes. or Depestele
Matey did what he could today but even his great game is not enough for a solid team like Slovakia. Bulgarian MB lack firepower, Zhekov lacks precision, unstable reception, i might say nothing new, as those are the most common problems in Team Bulgaria, but today... it was a really bad match. I can't even imagine quarterfinals without Bulgaria, that would be strange and sad.
Of course we have big problems, but Zygadlo had some good moments (not only bad) and our spikers scored some points, but their performance is under expectations. I think we can get to the semifinal, but there would be strong teams that can take advantage of our weknesses.
Anyway, we started afresh in the third set but somehow Slovakia always disturbed us with their good attacks by their MBs. There were some pretty impressive long rallies too. And in the tie break....we had 3 match balls.
What has passed has passed. I know we will play our game tomorrow.
Here's the statistic from our match : http://bgvolleyball.com/files/volleyball/stats/6621.pdf
And congratulations to Berny, representing for Slovakia in the forum :)
I'm so happy we played a good game against Germany. Great performance of Kubiak and Kurek! Bombing serves of Bartek!
I'm sure you will pass the pool phase!! ?
Today I predict awful game /and loose/ vs Poland, because of the shock the team has yesterday. That will be psychological match for us. And I think that if we loose it, we don't deserve to continue in the championship. Very important match today...
Russia 1,75
Serbia 7
Poland 8
Italy and Bulgaria 9
and at the end... Austria 250 !!! Poor guys!
