Piotr Nowakowski achieved 1,000 blocks in his career of the Plusliga !!

On 14 April 2022, a milestone was made in the Plusliga. 

Piotr Nowakowski, one of the Polish best middle blockers, accomplished 1,000 blocks.

1st match of the 9th-10th place of Projekt Warszawa vs Cuprum Lubin. Nowakowski had set a record of 996 blocks before this match, so he needed 4 more blocks to achieve 1,000 blocks in his career.

Nowakowski, who entered the court as a substitute in the middle of 2 set, made 4 blocks on the day. At 0:0 in 3 set, Nowakowski blocked Michał Gierżot's pipe attack, and it was the moment when the legendary player's 1,000th blocking was completed.

In the Plusliga history, total 1,000 blocks in career are milestone reached by only two people. One is Daniel Pliński, who blocked 1,202 times in his career, the other is Cichy Pit.

Projekt Warszawa has only 1 game left this season on April 22, and the match will be played at home in Warszawa.

It will be very meaningful if a ceremony shoud be held to commemorate on that day Nowakowski's 1,000 blocks.
