Brazil keep their way to 9th title in World Grand Prix. This time defeated team was Italy, with result 3:0 (Set 3: 25:11) what "Canarinhas" did also in previous matches. It seems that team coached by Ze Roberto can get a title, but they will play with tough opponents: Serbia (tomorrow) and China (on Sunday). Brazil were led by Thaisa Menezes with 16 points, including five service points. Italy’s top scorer was Valentina Diouf with 13 points. Brazil picked up 14 blocking points to Italy’s four and an impressive 13 service points to Italy’s three. Italy made 15 errors and Brazil nine. Brazil coach Jose Roberto Guimaraes said: "I’m very happy to win the match. We had a really good start in the first set but in the second we lost our concentration and aggressiveness. We got that back in the third set, especially with our service. Sapporo - Japan, August 29, 2013 – China fought a tough battle with Italy and prevailed 3:2 (28:30, 25:22, 26:28, 25:13, 15:10) in the FIVB World Grand Prix Finals at Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center on Thursday. China were led by Hui Ruoqi with 19 points. Six Chinese players reached double figures. The Italians’ top scorer was Valentina Diouf with 26 points. Italy had the advantage in blocking points, 10-9, while China prevailed in serving 8-5. On the press conference coach of China national team: Lang Ping said: "I think today we gave the audience a great competition and it was very valuable for our players to learn from these games. In sets one and three we had chances to close the game but we missed those opportunities, but we want to use this experience for the future. Japan beat Italy 3:0 (25:18, 25:19, 25:22) in the third match of the Final Round of the FIVB World Grand Prix in Sapporo on Wednesday. Japan and Italy are ranked third and fourth, respectively, on the FIVB world ranking and before Wednesday, Japan had only lost one of their last five World Grand Prix matches against Italy. Japan were led by Yukiko Ebata (16 points) and Saori Kimura (15), while Valentina Diouf scored 14 points for Italy. Japan’s coach and players said they had worked well in the week since the final qualifying round in Sendai. Japan coach Masayoshi Manabe: "I knew the players were nervous because it was our first match so I’m happy for them that we won.
