CONWAY, S.C. – Coastal Carolina volleyball head coach Jozsef Forman is pleased to announce the addition of Agata Lesiak (Warsaw, Poland) and Lucy Malone (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) to the 2021 signing class. A 6-2 opposite hitter, Lesiak plays club volleyball with the AZS AWF Warszawa team in the second senior league and was a member of the Polish National team that competed at the U20 European Championship in Sczyrk, Poland in 2020.

A semifinalist for promotion to the first senior league in 2019, Lesiak was a team captain for her UKS ATENA Warszawa team that won the silver medal at the 2019 Polish Cadets' Championship and the 2018 Mazovian Cadets' Championship. She was also a silver medalist and was named the best serving player of the tournament for team Mazovia+ at the 2018 National Youth Olympics.

In 2017, she won the silver medal with the Polish U16 National Team and qualified for the Cadets' European Championship in Palencia, Spain. She also reached the finals and won the silver medal at the Polish Youngsters' Championship with her UKS ATENA Warszawa club team.

"I am very excited to have Agata join our team this fall because she is an excellent opposite hitter and a great student. She brings a high-level Polish volleyball culture with international experience from playing with the U15, U17, and U19 Polish Women's National Team. Her exceptional skill set, height, and jumping ability make her a very talented and versatile athlete for our program," commented Forman.

Lesiak was also part of the Polish U15 National Team that won the silver medal at the Eastern European Championship (EEVZA) in Russia in 2016 and the silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Hopes Tournament in Poland.

An academic finalist in the 2018 Biological Olympics, Lesiak was also a swimmer in which she was a member of the Junior Mazovian team and a two-time finalist of the Polish Championship.

"Agata is an outstanding student-athlete. She plans to study molecular biology and marine science here at Coastal Carolina, where we have one of the world's top programs. We expect Agata will be a major contributor on the court and in the classroom," added associate head coach Deitre Collins-Parker.

Malone was a 2020 AVCA High School All-Region selection and an honorable mention All-American honoree her senior season in which she led Sacred Heart Academy to the regional finals.

The libero also picked up 2020 all-region and all-district tournament team honors and was named the Sacred Heart Academy Defensive MVP.

A two-time AAU All-American, Malone also plays club volleyball for the UNION Under Armour Volleyball Club.

"Lucy is a very talented libero that excels both on the court and in the classroom. Her speed and soft touch on the ball will help strengthen our back row. She is one of those relentless players that will dive and go after every ball. Those types of plays will energize our team and bring our play to the next level. I am very excited to see her compete for Coastal Carolina for years to come," continued Forman.

Malone is a member of the National Honor Society and a four-year member of the Principal's List. She was named to the KHSAA Academic All-State team and has logged over 85 community service hours during her high school career.

"Lucy is a great example of what we look for in a student-athlete. She is exceptional in the classroom and just as good on the court. She is going to bring a lot of intensity and grit to our program. We are really looking forward to working with her next season," commented assistant coach David Nguyen.

The duo will join graduate transfer Ella Saada (Kfar Masaryk, Israel/Syracuse) in the fall of 2021.

The Chanticleers finished the 2020 fall season ranked No. 14 nationally in the AVCA poll and set a new program record with 18-straight wins to start the season.
