In a remake of their match from the pool phase, the home heroines of The Netherlands edged Poland once more to claim their ticket to the semis and drive a crowd of 4500 fans just crazy at Sportpaleis Ahoy in Rotterdam. The Oranjes' win was spearheaded by the excellent performance of their opposite spiker Lonneke Slöetjes who won the duel with Poland's Volleyball queen Katarzyna Skowronska-Dolata.
