Korea defeated the Dominican Republic in four sets in the second round of the Women's World Cup at the Sendai Gym on Tuesday. Yeon-Koung scored 29 points, then Hee-Jin added 22 points for Korea, while Yonkaira Paola Pena Isabel top scored for the Dominicans with 22 points – all coming from attacks. Korea coach Lee Jungchul said: "We have played eight matches in Matsumoto and Sendai. We have had some injuries, but we will get rest tomorrow and be ready for the next matches. We have a tall player, Yang Hyo-Jin, who suffered an injury today. We always encounter injuries but fortunately, her injury is not serious."
