China beat Serbia 3:1 for their opening victory at the Women's World Cup 2015. Zhu Ting converted on 17 of her 31 killing attempts and added six blocks and one ace for game-high 24 points and led China to the win. Zhang Changning had nine kills, five aces and four stuffs to contribute 18 points for China while the Europeans were led by Brankica Mihajlovic with 21 points.
