Team from Velez have won the Argentina A1 Women’s League, which used a new format this season. In the final, Velez overcame Boca Juniors, the champions for the previous two seasons, in a great match, winning 3:0 (25:22, 25:20, 25:11). Estudiantes de la Plata won the bronze medal by defeating Villa Dora. Velez defeated Estudiantes de la Plata 3:0 in the semi-final for the first time. In the other semi-final, Boca qualified for their sixth consecutive final by overcoming Villa Dora in three sets. But they couldn’t sustain the record in the final as Velez put on a near-perfect performance. Jimena Perez was the top scorer for the new champions and was named MVP.
