Hungary player Greta Szakmary: “It was very tiring but the team’s energy brought everything together and that really showed in the fifth set. We came here to win and we will do everything in our power to win. We are going to take the gold, that’s what we’re here for.”

Hungary coach Alberto Salamoni:“It was very difficult match because France played very well. They had balance, good attack and defence, and less mistakes. For us, it was a question of patience. We were probably better in any situation but without patience then it would be very difficult to win. I think we deserved to be first in ranking because we showed our best in the most important moments in this game.”

Hungary captain Zsuzsanna Talas: “It was a really hard game for both teams because we had long travels in the preliminary round and another long one to Australia for the Finals. It was hard to beat France but also ourselves to take this win.”

Hungary player Bernadette Dekany: “I am really happy for the result. We knew that it would be tough game against France and it would be hard to put the ball down, so we had to try twice or thrice to get the point.”
