I expected a 5-set match 'cause Latina and Vibo are the most beautiful surprises of this season's league. Unfortunately the video desn't show enough of the match to understand what went wrong in Vibo and what was Latina's strenght. Anyway, Jarosz scored 17 points, Gitto (Latina) and Buti (Vibo) with 3 blocks each. @ivolley: potresti caricare le partite per intero o, quanto meno, fare video in cui si vedono più azioni/starlci di partita?

Too many changes for Giuliani in his starting 6; he was about to face a bitter defeat. Starovic suffered with a little knee injury so Zaytsev played opposite and, since Savani and Kovar are out, Giuliani tried the new-entry Kooy with Parodi and Pajenk in lieu of Stankovic ... too much! Macerata lost the first 2 sets pretty badly and in 3rd set, Verona had 2 match-balls...then Zaytsev went serving and an ace of his, a huge block by Podrascanin and a Lamparello's counter-attack changed the whole match.

@Kjeldhor: Chrison maybe? ;) Anyway, in the description box here above you can read "This was match, who showed that Piacenza needs younger players". Well, that's partially true; Piacenza actually has a couple of interesting young players (Vettori, Maruotti): I think they should alternate these younger names with the more experienced ones; it might be nice to see Vettori in the starting 6 every now and then and Maruotti already proved he can be a valid sub of Hristo.

Grazie ivolley ;) I admit this was one of the shocking surprise of the day along with Modena's and Cuneo's final scores. I honestly didn't expect Castellana's victory: I thought Vibo would easily win 3-0!! We cannot say that things are boring in serie a this year.

Aelinn: you're right! This was the worst surprise of the day 'cause everybody expected more from this match. I still haven't understood if the final score was due because Piacenza was too weak or 'cause Macerata was too strong. BTW at 2:12 you can't actually seen him 'cause he's out of camera, but Travica was already celebrating after saving that ball even though Zaysev hadn't spiked it yet...he knew that Zizzo would score the final point ;)

Well done Kjeld (as usual) ;) I watched this match: my impression was that the new German MB in S. Giustino, Boheme, had some problems with his setter and in finding the right timing on block and spike. Btw, you're right: Zaytsev has played like an alien so far (I've already written it in some of my comments) but, honestly speaking, the whole team is performing very well. I've just watched Macerata-Piacenza and Lube's players are all at their best: Parodi excellent in both reception/defense and attack; Savani's very very good; Stankovic and Podrascanin (mainly) simply perfect...and Henno is a super libero. Travica is taking benefit from this situation too: i've never seen him being so confident when setting, no or very few mistakes. Excellent team indeed. @Kjeld: do you think some of Motorhead's songs (like "ace of spades" f. e.) could fit your videos?

Castellana has a very young and talented team, they can only improve: Sabbi (22 years old), Cester (22), Falaschi (25)...they need to play together again and again and again. Zaytsev is an alien at the moment: I think he's full of enthusiasm 'cause he's finally playing in a big team where he can try to win a lot and this thing is overexciting him.. Travica MVP simply leaves me agape :P

Aelinn you're right, BUT Lucianito doesn't have Zygadlo and Guma in front of him when it comes to NT setter position ?

It was a surprise, for sure, but not so surprising after all. Osmany wasn't on court; Matey is probably distracted by extra-volleyball problems; Trento is already focusing on Doha. That doesn't reduce the value of Vibo's performance which was excellent (especially Klapwijk and Barone).

This year Michele Baranowicz has a huge chance of proving what he's made of: he's the first-string setter in an important club as Modena is; the whole team is good and their coach is good as well. I'm rooting for him.

@Master: Omrcen plays in Japan this year.

Magnificent performance for Ivano in this match, not only on serve. He was the top scorer of the match (23 points) and proved to play confidently as an opposite too.
