Great success was achieved by the pioneers, cadets and juniors of Crvena zvezda, at the Easter international tournament in Ancona. In the competition of 112 teams from almost all countries of Europe and America, among which there were also several representative selections and as many as 1600 young volleyball players, three medals ended up in the hands of girls in red and white jerseys.
In the final, the Junior Red Stars defeated the home team Mondial with 2:0, the Pioneers were better than Trento 2:1, while the Cadets won the silver medal after a duel with the Zagreb team (1:2).
The young volleyball players of Red Star to a fantastic success at the Easter tournament in the Italian city of Ancona were led by coaches: Đina Marić, Vasilije Radovanović, Srđan Radovanović, Darko Pandžić and Alma Bešlagić - Dobričanin.
How tiring the tournament was, the fact that there were 30 to 40 teams in each group, and it was played over three days, speaks volumes. Crvena Zvezda came to Italy with 50 players, at the invitation of the Easter Volleyball Club, which wanted our club in a tournament with a 29-year tradition.
The juniors of Crvena zvezda were so dominant that they reached the final without losing a set, which speaks volumes for how well they work in Crvena zvezda.
By the way, our club had "fiery" support from the stands in Ancona, from the parents of the young volleyball players, who were also of great help to the coaches.
After everything shown in Ancona, there is no doubt that OK Crvena Zvezda has a bright future ahead of it.
