Sofa, popcorns, iced beer and Italy vs Poland match. What more can I ask for?
Good luck to everybody guys.
In last matches Italy showed serious problems in reception (seen some actions where our libero was embarassing and the OHs were asked to receive serves aimed at him).
I also think that our guys have a hazy approach to the match: they haven't been able to play a single match leading the set from the beginning. Against Belgium and Finland you can afford it, but against Poland I've some doubts. I bet will be a 3-2 or 2-3 with so much errors from both. Anyway, let the best win! ?
No chance Lasko vs Kurek? Have you seen any match, man? I personally think Italy is the weaker semifinalist, but that does not mean we are going to lose.A proverb from my region says " The ball is round " as everything could happen and there is no certainty about who could win...
Yeah Kk15 you have anticipated me. Now we're currently evaluating the various offers for Kooy. Seems that Belluno wants him at any cost but the GM wants him to go abroad maybe in Poland (probably because Belluno this summer sold Bjelica to Rome and decided to renew the contract with Fei - and both two were on the plans of Modena). Polish team I heard was Jastrzębski, but nothing certainty, in some time we'll learn more.
@ Nightfox Bulgaria have a quite strange way/tactics to get to victory, but after all each team has its own, hasn't it? XD
I agree with you about the formula in the last WC: It was clearly made by our federation to make our team get as far as possible. But that is a part of the game nowadays. The FIVB (or CEV aswell) lets you hold the event, and since this involves costs/problems of various kinds to the organizers, they gave them some (questionable in my opinion) "advantages" as creating the match schedule is.
Martino will come on loan from Macerata, so probably Kooy will too.
Only few days (but maybe hours) for Matteo Martino being announced officially in Modena. The agreement with Macerata has been successful. Kooy should leave the team for one between Jastrzebski Wegiel, Belluno and Latina.
GER 1:3 SVK
My compliments to Slovakia. They have exactly idea of what "to fight until last ball" mean. Nice show to see them on the court, and the results rightly reward them in my opinion.

BEL 3:1 FRA
POR 1:3 RUS
SLO 1-3 SRB
Well guys, we have the first surprise!
First thing to note: The sport halls are SADLY EMPTY (right now). I supposed that so little advertising could lead to this result. Let's hope for the following games...
And France wins the 1st set of these e.c.
few hours guys, only few hours ?

The onliest season in Italy was certainly his worst. He shortly seated on the bench for a great part of the tournament, and this is what I most regret knowing what he is capable of. Great movie!
@Kk15, Akolita .. Maybe yes, maybe no .. We are receiving some (too much) suspicious phone calls down here for being the transfer session off. I'm personally afraid about that's going to have a positive ending. I would never change Kooy for mr. Martino who months ago said indoor volleyball was too stressful for him and now that he's without a mate for beach volleyball he changed his mind. By my point of view that's not a so big "scoop" transfer, indeed. The only positive aspect I see is that he's Italian. I think fans here won't be so happy, but I could be wrong. I'll post news when I'll know more...
Bartosz Kurek great action 12 years ago +4
Can't wait for the european championships to see what this team will be able to do, and Bartek of course. If he'll be good shaped and relaxed I think they can go beyond their actual (psychological) borders and fight for a medal.
@Spike Wise words! @proud Many things have been misunderstood, by me too. "casamodena, the least I wanted to do with my post was to offend you" this one no. As you said everyone was explaining his point of view. There are many ways to disagree, this one is miles out of context. You have my respect if you do the same with me. I apologize to all those who have read these last childish posts that do not deserve to be on this nice forum
@Kk15 Usually teams that hire a player after the end of transfer session have a pre-agreement with the player (before the end) but the "owner" team hasn't decided what to do yet, because they want a substitute for him immediately, including pre-seasonal trainings. And if it's not, the negotiation could last weeks or months because they need him (see Paparoni in Rome).
Voices about contacts by Matteo Martino to Modena and Belluno. In Modena he would come for ... Kooy?? (Say me it's not true). After saying bad things about indoor volleyball now that he's witout a mate he'd like to come back? That's a strange guy..
So you want me to change my mind. Be sure I'm not leaving because of you, but because I respect all other people reading this thread as I don't want to reply your last post for doing the same. You have your own opinion? well, I've mine.Stop. Here everyone's talking correctly, if you want to offend go to see football or elsewhere.
Me too. I wasn't talking about what Trento's players earn or could earn (I don't know even). I was referring to the economical power of the club ( which gives importance to it and affect foreign players' decision to go there rather than elsewhere). Let us be clear: Matey, Juantorena and other Trento's players (not volleyball-gods but in any case good players) love their team as they play in the current world's best. That team has been built up with enormous economical expenses to hire the best players right away. The proof is that they started playing serie A1 by buying the license from another club, and they don't have past history, even if they're buiding one now. As happened for glorious teams like Treviso,Rome,Ravenna,Milan,Parma and Modena aswell, if one day you start to be no longer the best, your top players will go away, your money will decrease and your team won't be more than a modest one. PS1: Dinamo choosed to let Matey go to earn money and hire other talented players with them since Trento was offering a lot. PS2:Kazan didn't offer to Trento too much for Osmany, but they promised only to the player (and not his team) a lot. So he didn't say "No" by himself. PS3: I've some reliable sources to confirm what I said, by working in volleyball managment field from some time and having mates from russian league. But I do not want to argue , so I won't write here again :)
Thank goodness, somebody from Trento was missing on here! Remember that for us it would be a (big) dream being in final, but for you it was a MUST, so let's say all gone well for you (otherwise...) Modena's not so strong? Yes,at all. But try to buid up a team with top-players having 1/4th of your budget... Impossible. Sure, Trento is the team of the moment and I personally wish you guys a looong future, but take into account periods like ours nowadays, because they will come for you too...
I'm not saying that Trento didn't deserve the final match and the title after such a high-level season, they did, and that's right. I've only said they won that match cause Dennis injury. It may seem unbeliavable (for me too, after our modest results) but that was the feeling of all the people in Pala Trento (including supporters, and as I wrote, also by their staff). But of course you had to watch the game near the court to notice so. Trust me, Trento has been very lucky that time. @ raylight I agree, an injury could be predicted, but with our 2nd opposite instead of Dennis, we would be knocked out at the 3rd game ;)
