Foreign players in Korean league after 2015

Foreign players from 2015 needed to go through a “tryout” process usually held in April each year. It's been a purely online process since the Covid-19 outbreak in 2020 just reviewing documents, stats, and videos without the actual tryout gathering.

Each participant submits a pre-signed contract committing to play in the league without knowing which team she would play for. Teams roughly in the reverse order of the prior season's ranking choose their pick. Similar to a typical player draft, a “lottery” factor is added in deciding the order of selections.

This change has been introduced in 2015 to limit the budget spent on foreign players and to normalize their capabilities. Initially targeted recent graduates of NCAA DI universities, but the limit has been lifted in 2017 to broaden the pool.

The fixed base salary (gross) for the women's league since the 20/21 season is $200,000 for the first season and $300,000 for renewals. The contract term is Aug 1 ~ Mar 31 of the following year. When a player from the previous season signs with the same team before the tryout date, the relevant team & player are removed from the selection process. Players can be replaced during the season due to injuries or mismatched expectations.

Players listed below have appeared in at least one match during the regular season. In the order of Hyundai E&C, GS Caltex, Korea Ginseng Corp, Korea Expressway, Heungkuk Life Insurance, Industrial Bank of Korea., and Pepper Savings Bank.
